Bathroom Renovation by In-Dex Construction
In this bathroom we completely removed all internals down to the bare studs. That included the flooring, ceilings, walls, vanity, shower and the doors. We first framed in the existing door way and moved it to the other side of the bathroom for closer access from the stairway. We also removed the existing shower wall in order to make a larger shower which meant framing in a new closet door opening as well. The ceiling was also re framed in places to have more consistent height. The false brick wall paneling was removed and replaced with drywall. This was also done in the hallway outside the bathroom.
The Vanity wall was framed out to accommodate the new vanity design and to hide the existing plumbing in the concrete floor within the lower vanity drawer. A piece of the original wall paneling was kept and painted black and installed as an accent wall behind the vanity. The vanity top was ordered custom as well as the vanity size.
The shower was redesigned to accommodate a custom tiled 42” x 74” base. A 45 degree corner seat measuring 24” x 24” was installed. The shower also received full waterproofing membrane on the walls and floor. The shower base, bench and membrane were provided by “Schluter” products. The shower doors were purchased and ordered custom to fit the opening. All black trim and accents were installed to match the fixtures in the entire bathroom.
